Sometimes in chapel, I’ll read an article from Flipboard on leadership. It is a practical examen of conscience! So yesterday the article I read was about 19 things remarkable people think everyday. One of them is: “No one else would do that…so I will.” Often the easiest way to be different is to do what others are unwilling to do. Pick one thing that other people won’t do. It can be simple. I can be small. Doesn’t matter. Whatever it is, do it. Instantly you’ll be different from the rest.
Everyday think of one thing to do that no one else is willing to do. After a week you’ll be uncommon. After a month you’ll be special. After a year you’ll be incredible, and you definitely won’t be like anyone else.
It really is just that simple to become a saint. Every day do one thing that the rest of the people around you wouldn’t do. Say hi to someone others ignore. Make a nice meal. Wash the sink when you’re through. Offer to pour someone’s coffee. See if someone needs help…. It’s that simple.
