What We Say We Will See

The words we use influence our perception. If we use the word “hate” alot, we will most likely find alot of things around us that are deserving of hate. If we use “violent” vocabulary we will experience the world around us as violent. If we join the revolution of tenderness started by Pope Francis, starting with the words we choose to use, we will experience tenderness in our relationships and in situations.

Changing vocabulary takes intentionality. Practice restating sentences, at least to yourself. At the beginning of the day, visualize the different circumstances likely to erupt…whoops…likely to offer themselves to you and practice gentle vocabulary.

How do you see yourself differnently as a result? Others? The world?
